My number one tip for HOLIDAY Survival….I always think about how my choices will affect my ultimate goal.
Here are my tips for surviving the holiday!
#1 Don’t skip your workout!
#2 Get in your 5-6 small meals each day
#3 Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water to stay hydrated.
#4 Measure your food and eat in moderation
#5 OWN IT— If you choose to have a LARGE cheat meal, don’t expect to lose weight! Expect to break even and expect to have a rough FRIDAY workout. But like I said, if you choose it, own it and then work hard to get back on track!
Some more things I’ll focus on….
*I will be pass up on the things that I don’t really need. For example, I’d rather splurge on a homemade chocolate chip cookie than a dinner roll. I like apple cider but I would rather save the sugar for wine. It’s about picking and choosing what you really really want to indulge in and then passing on the less important things.
*Finish your last meal 3 hours before bed. Give your food time to digest.
*Stick to 1-2 drinks only and be sure to drink 1 full glass of water in between.
In the end I want you to enjoy your holiday but just be mindful of your choices and how they will make you feel afterwards. If you are going to own it and you are not going to feel guilty for your choices then go for it.
But if you are going to REGRET going overboard then give yourself a gut check, get an accountability partner to call you out when you reach for a bad choice and stay focused on having a healthy holiday!!!!
