There are so many meanings of the word “discipline”…years ago, discipline became a very bad thing for me.
Discipline meant eating too little, skipping parties, nights out, and weekends at college. Discipline meant weighing myself daily, killing myself with cardio, and cutting out entire food groups that were “bad” for me.
Now I view discipline as something entirely different. For me discipline means eating enough to FUEL my workouts. Choosing healthy foods that make me feel my best, run my fastest, and lift my strongest.
Discipline means taking a rest day when my body needs it and not “pushing through” the pain. Discipline means not stepping on the scale, even when it tempts me the most.
I have learned to embrace a healthy dose of discipline and now get to teach other people to do the same on a daily basis. I feel so lucky that I am disciplined enough to do what I love. 💛
How you love yourself is how you treat others to love you 💛
Just a reminder, as many transformations as you see, always remember, everyone is on a different journey.
Goals should be individual, not universal. Just because someone is stronger, faster, or thinner doesn’t mean your effort isn’t as valid.
Work on your own goals for yourself. Progress will come. ✨
I used to hate my body.
Not Feminine enough.
No thigh gap.
It wasn’t until I found fitness that I started to learn to accept my body for all it could do.
I’ll never be a size 2.
I’ll never have a thigh gap.
And let’s face it, my back will always be wide.
But I appreciate it anyway.
I take pride in everything it does for me.
No thigh gap required.
5 years later 5 times happier.
You may not see a drastic difference in these pictures but I do. I used to HIDE in what I wore; leggings, sweatshirts, baggy sweaters. And yet, it was still so very clear how self conscious I felt, even under all those layers…
Now, it feels SO good to be confident, and happy in my own skin. Wearing jeans is always HUGE NSV win for me. Never take for granted feeling good in your own skin. And the best part is you get to take a step towards that victory whenever you’re ready.
Anyone else got a non scale victory to share?! Who’s working towards one of their own?
