When is the PERFECT time to start your health and fitness journey?
My REAL answer: Never.
The season of New Year’s Resolutions and starting on Monday is upon us… but one of the most important things I’ve learned is there will never be a best time to start a health and fitness journey.
*Life is always going to be busy.
*There’s always going to be an upcoming event.
*You’re never going to have a surplus of money to afford it.
*You’re never going to feel READY
So what if instead of waiting for Monday, or January 1st, or until you feel ready you started right now?! Made one small (or BIG) change to take a step to a healthier life. It doesn’t have to be a drastic change. Small changes daily when life is chaotic will still add up over time. In fact, it will add up to WAY more than if you keep WAITING for that perfect starting point. Are you in?
I used to HIDE. And not just in sweatshirts, but I let how I felt about my body affect how I felt about myself as a person. 👗
One of the most rewarding things to see my clients gain is the confidence of feeling better in their skin. 🙌
Change doesn’t always happen on the scale.
It doesn’t have to be reflected in a different clothing size.
Change isn’t always seen on the exterior.
But I do know this… Change happens when you decide you deserve it. 💕
I know there is all of these trends like, you have to have a thigh gap, or you need to be curvy, or you need to be this thin. But you don’t need to be anything that doesn’t make you feel happy. You need to be comfortable in your own skin and that is all that matters.
Lifting all the weights is cool.
Running a marathon is cool.
Kickboxing at home is cool.
Crossfitting is cool.
Dancing your butt off at Zumba is cool.
Know what’s not cool? Make someone feel uncomfortable for what they choose to do to be active. Whatever your approach to fitness is… do it! Just MOVE!
Full honesty… this past vacation I struggled big time with comparison. Seeing one of the top coaches, my mind automatically starting shifting to how I could change to be more like her. How would my life be different… If I were thinner? Prettier? Different? Taller? Blonder?
For me, it’s always been that desire to be someone else, to be better. I only say this because I know as women we all tend to do this. If I looked like her, had her life, did what she does, then things would be different.
But here’s the thing… the world only needs ONE Bonnie Engle and the only person I will only ever be is ME. And guess what?! I can still help a whole lot of ladies as me.
Comparison is the thief of joy. You are perfect just as you are and sometimes we ALL need that reminder.
Take a minute today to think about something you LOVE about you… I guarantee someone out there is wishing they were more like YOU.
