2010 was a tough year for me.
I had just graduated college with a degree in dance and zero idea of what I wanted to do with my life.
I was in the process of recovering from an eating disorder, and weighed about 40lbs more than I had been just a few years before.
I had accepted the fact that if I wanted to thrive and live a healthy life, I needed to eat food, so I did.
I was in a period of healing.
But I also felt so stuck.
I hated my body and thought it would never change.
I believed I would forever be unhappy in my skin.
I had zero idea of what life had in store for me or what direction I would go in.
The perfect reminder that everything is temporary.
For me this was a low.
But it was also the springboard for the rest of my life.
I grew → then shrunk a bit
Built strength → then shared it
Found fitness → realized my passion
Hit bottom → learned to fight
Forever going through seasons and periods of growth.

A reminder that mental health looks different on everyone.
It can be easily hidden.
It can be seen as “stuck up” or antisocial.
It can also be seen as loud, outgoing, and overly talkative.
Reality is you never truly know what someone is going through behind what you perceive on the outside.
Especially this time of year, please be patient with people.
Be a little kinder.
Show compassion even if you don’t feel someone deserves it.
And please know you are forever worthy.

Since it requires no dance experience, Barre Blend is a great workout for new exercisers or people who are just getting back into fitness. Plus, there is a modifier you can follow.
And if you’re more advanced, you can choose heavier dumbbells, add Resistance Loops, and follow the intensifier, who makes the moves more challenging.
What Equipment Do I Need?
No Ballet Barre Required! You can use any sturdy household object at the right height (such as a chair, sofa, countertop).
You will need 1-5 lb. weights to complete the workouts.
Resistance Loops and Barre Socks are optional.
