Goals that seem too big, can actually be achieved little by little.
Start by drinking one glass of water.
Start by doing one plank.
Start by walking one mile.
Start by eating veggies at one meal.
Start by thinking you can one time.
Start by telling yourself you can one time.
Start by doing the thing one time.
Just start and repeat tomorrow.
2010 was a tough year for me.
I had just graduated college with a degree in dance and zero idea of what I wanted to do with my life.
I was in the process of recovering from an eating disorder, and weighed about 40lbs more than I had been just a few years before.
I had accepted the fact that if I wanted to thrive and live a healthy life, I needed to eat food, so I did.
I was in a period of healing.
But I also felt so stuck.
I hated my body and thought it would never change.
I believed I would forever be unhappy in my skin.
I had zero idea of what life had in store for me or what direction I would go in.
The perfect reminder that everything is temporary.
For me this was a low.
But it was also the springboard for the rest of my life.
I grew → then shrunk a bit
Built strength → then shared it
Found fitness → realized my passion
Hit bottom → learned to fight
Forever going through seasons and periods of growth.
If you’re in a tough spot remember it could be your greatest opportunity for change.
Embrace it. 💛
If I seem rude I am probably anxious.
If I seem irritated I am probably anxious.
If I seem impatient I am probably anxious.
If I seem reclusive I am probably anxious.
If I seem moody I am probably anxious.
If I seem detached I am probably anxious.
If I seem annoyed I am probably anxious.
If I seem unfriendly I am probably anxious.
A reminder that mental health looks different on everyone.
It can be easily hidden.
It can be seen as “stuck up” or antisocial.
It can also be seen as loud, outgoing, and overly talkative.
Reality is you never truly know what someone is going through behind what you perceive on the outside.
Especially this time of year, please be patient with people.
Be a little kinder.
Show compassion even if you don’t feel someone deserves it.
Barre Blend is a low-impact, high-intensity, and high-energy workout program from barre expert, professional dancer, and Yoga Instructor Elise Joan.
Barre Blend helps create a lean, toned physique through a fun fusion of ballet barre, Pilates, and cardio interval training. It incorporates a variety of techniques rooted in dance, focused on high-reps of small-range movements, dynamic exercises, core stabilization and active stretches, all while keeping your heart rate up.
You’ll feel the burn as you sweat, stretch, and strengthen to energize your entire body. Get ready to feel graceful, strong, and gorgeous in just 60 days.
There are 8 weeks of workouts broken into 4 phases and 40 unique workouts. Workouts run from 30 to 40 minutes, and Elise changes up the moves and level of difficulty as you progress through the program.
While every workout is full-body, she gives special focus to one body part each day. These include:
CLASSIC FULL BODY BLEND
LEAN LEGS BLEND
When you want some extra targeted toning, add these 10-minute enhancements to any workout:
ENHANCE THE CORE
ENHANCE YOUR CARDIO

Who is this For?
This is a low-impact, high-intensity, and high-energy workout program for anyone looking to build long, lean, toned muscles.
Since it requires no dance experience, Barre Blend is a great workout for new exercisers or people who are just getting back into fitness. Plus, there is a modifier you can follow.
And if you’re more advanced, you can choose heavier dumbbells, add Resistance Loops, and follow the intensifier, who makes the moves more challenging.
What Equipment Do I Need?
No Ballet Barre Required! You can use any sturdy household object at the right height (such as a chair, sofa, countertop).
You will need 1-5 lb. weights to complete the workouts.
You are not always going to be motivated.
You are not always going to be talented.
You are not always going to know enough.
You can ALWAYS choose to be disciplined.
This is one of the biggest misconceptions I see in the health & fitness field… successful people DO NOT have more motivation, talent, or smarts.
They too have days where they don’t feel like it either.
They too get tired.
They too would much rather eat peanut butter cups than broccoli too.
But they have the DISCIPLINE to choose to stay on track.
They have the DRIVE to keep going even when they don’t feel like it.
Just. Show. Up.
