Have you ever wondered whether having the “perfect” body is actually worth it? Today I’m uncovering whether it really is. Recently I’ve been helping one of my VIP clients through some major transformations. Thus far she’s been doing amazing and has lost a ton of weight, along with building some major confidence. I couldn’t be prouder. Once in a while though she gets stuck. For her there is a constant internal debate between wanting a perfect body and learning to live her life all at the same time.
When we discuss things such as loosing the last ten pounds, or wanting to “tone” up, the question comes up. At what price is this worth it to you? You see I could very well help her to tone up, lose weight, and get that perfect body she desires, however what is it worth to her? Does she want to spend extra hours at the gym every day, cut out bread from her life, skip on dinner dates, and stop eating a small piece of dark chocolate a day? Or is it about finding a place where she is able to be 100% happy and confident in her own skin while living a life she adores?
To be honest I think she is well on her way to the latter with a whole lot of success in the positive body image boost as well as some weight loss wins along the way. Together we have gotten her to a place where she feels great about herself, enjoys buying new clothes, goes out to eat, and still has some chocolate when she wants it. She also moves her body in a way that she loves and doesn’t stress about her food, but still preps vegetables ahead, stocks up on healthy foods, and eats her fruits and veggies.
She has slowly found her healthy balance and it is in that comfortable place between having the “perfect” body and living a life she loves. Now she has a body that she sees as beautiful, enjoys her life, and feels great about herself, all without giving up chocolate and fun for good. So next time you dream about being a size 0 or having a model’s body, ask yourself, what is that “size” or body worth to you? Tweet It!
