With Thanksgiving coming closer and closer, I thought I would share one of my favorite sweet tooth hacks. You’ll get all the flavors of the season without the added sugars AND use up those leftover apples from apple picking.
Give this a try next time your sweet tooth is acting up.
Apple Pie Protein Bowl
Chop up one apple into cubes.
Spray a skillet with coconut oil and add your apple add a drop of water (½ tbs. or so), cover and cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle your apples with cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, ½ tsp vanilla extract, and a dash of sea salt. Cook for another 3-5 minutes.
Mix in a tablespoon of sliced almonds and cook another few minutes.
Remove and top with plain Greek yogurt for some added protein.

This would make 1-2 servings but feel free to multiply the recipe. It would make a great healthy dessert option for Thanksgiving day and would be delicious topped with some coconut whipped cream too.
